CALHOUN, GILMER AND BRAXTON RESIDENTS GRADUATE FROM GSC

Glenville, WV - Seven students from Calhoun County, 31 from Gilmer County and 11 from Braxton County were awarded their degrees during the 137th Glenville State College Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

The Glenville State College Class of 2011 includes two-hundred and eight graduates who completed requirements for an Associate or Bachelor Degree in a variety of academic areas including business, teacher education, criminal justice, and natural resource management. These students represent thirty-two West Virginia counties, and seven other states (California, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia).

Calhoun County Grads

Victor Lee Carpenter, Jr. of Mount Zion received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry; Jason Michael Cunningham earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with specialization in Social Studies. He is the son of Ralph and Deborah Cunningham of Grantsville.

Jamie Michelle Frederick of Big Bend graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Angela Rose King was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with specializations in Elementary Education and Early Education. She is the daughter of Roselee King and the late James King of Chloe.

Kayla Heather Nichols received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Psychology/Sociology. She is the daughter of Kathryn Nichols of Five Forks; Tyler Ross Schartiger was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Criminal Justice. He is the son of George and Norma Schartiger of Arnoldsburg; Justin Wayne Whipkey of Grantsville earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer and Information Systems.

Gilmer County Grads

Lamas James Anderson of Glenville graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Kristina Gayle Beron graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. She and her husband Tim reside in Troy; John Mahlon Brown of Glenville graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a specialization in Math and Science (5-9); Richard Edward Burkowski of Glenville graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a specialization in Social Studies (5-Adult).

Ashley Kayla Bush of Glenville received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting; Roseanna Lynn Bush was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. She is the daughter of Roger and Debra Bush of Glenville; Stacy Lynn Butler received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with specializations in Social Studies (5-9) and Elementary Education. She and her husband Leon reside in Glenville with their three children Hannah, Garrett, and Grant; Amanda Michelle Miller-Butta of Glenville received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. She is the daughter of Richard Miller of Glenville and Rhonda Reed of Morgantown, West Virginia

Misty Blue Cochran of Glenville earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting; Kevin D. Drake of Glenville was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management; Adam Patrick Fischer of Sand Fork graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry. He is the son of Rhoda Fischer of Stouts Mill and Robert Fischer of Baltimore, Maryland; Marion Frampton, III of Glenville received an Associate in Science Degree in Business

Cassandra Buckhannon Freshour of Glenville earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Psychology/Sociology. She is the daughter of Charles and Sandra Buckhannon of Glenville; Dustin Wade Freshour graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Management. He is the son of Roger and Margie Freshour of Glenville; James Franklin Furby of Glenville received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management and an Associate in Science Degree in Forest Technology

William Homer Grayson of Glenville earned an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Taki Troy Hughes of Glenville received an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Christopher Alexander Hunter of Glenville graduated Cum Laude with an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Wendell Antonio Johnson of Glenville was awarded an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Brianna Beth Lowther received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with specializations in Elementary Education and Early Education (PreK-K). She is the daughter of Joe and Kim Lowther of Linn.

Mark Salvatore Esposito of Glenville earned an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Charles Herbert Miller of Glenville was awarded a Regents Bachelor of Arts Degree; LaVelle Wade Parks of Glenville received an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Alicia Leann Rose of Rosedale earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology; Catisha Lamar Scavairello of Linn graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. She is the daughter of Tom Scavairello and Connie Meyers

Smith of Glenville received an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Michael Justin Smith of Glenville graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Michael Ray Smith of Glenville graduated Cum Laude with an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Whitney Lewis Stalnaker graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Psychology/Sociology. She is the daughter of Sherri Stalnaker of Glenville.

Timmothy Scott Walker of Glenville received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a specialization in Math (5-Adult); Michael Woolfolk of Glenville was awarded an Associate in Science Degree in Business.

Braxton County Grads

Brittany Dawn Conrad graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a specialization in Math (5-adult). She is the daughter of Kim and Tony Conrad of Orlando; Joseph Merle Evans earned two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He is the son of Rita Evans of Sutton and Mike Evans of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Megan Kate Facemire received a Bachelor of Arts in Education with specializations in Elementary Education and Multi-Categorical Special Education. She is the daughter of Jeffery and Diana Facemire of Sutton; Jaquelin Taylor Hayes of Gassaway received an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Sheran Boone-Helmick was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Education with specializations in Elementary Education and Early Education. She resides in Sutton with her husband Randy and their son Ross

Joshua Todd James of Sutton earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing; Harrison James Jenkins of Little Birch earned two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management and an Associate in Science in Forest Technology; Brittany Nicole Lilly of Gassaway graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Criminal Justice. She is the granddaughter of Betty Hurd of Gassaway.

Nicholas Austin Long of Sutton received an Associate in Science Degree in Business; Tiffany Alane Moore received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and an Associate in Science Degree in Business. She now lives in Normantown, and is the daughter of Donald and Brenda Burroughs of Heaters; David Lee Russell of Burnsville received a Regents Bachelor of Arts Degree.
