Wilford B. Williams, 79 - Big Bend

Wilford B. Williams, 79, of Big Bend, West Virginia, passed away at home Wednesday, May 25, 2011.

He was born in Ritchie County, July 26, 1931, a son of the late James C. and Amy Tingler-Williams.

Surviving are his wife, Violet M. Williams; son, Howard (Joyce) Williams of Big Bend WV; daughter, Sandra (Rodney) Ball of Vale North Carolina; grandchildren, James and Drew Williams, Melissa Park and Shawn Ball; and two great grandchildren.

Also surviving are brothers, Gayford (Glenna) Williams, Bernard (Sharon) Williams and Roydice (Sue) Williams; and sister, Erma (Arthur) Yost.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Perdue and Naomi Williams.

He was retired from Eureka Pipeline with 35 years service. He was a 1950 graduate of Calhoun High School, served in the uS Marine Corps from 1952-1954, and was a member of the Brookesville Baptist Church. He was also actively involved at the Grantsville Senior Citizens Center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville WV with Rev. C.W. McDonald officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
