The Calhoun County Republican Executive Committee citing attendance decided to change all its meeting dates except the December Christmas party back to Grantsville and to extend an invitation to GOP gubernatorial nominee Bill Maloney to come to Calhoun County.

The committee met Monday night at the Calhoun County Courthouse Little Courtroom for its regular monthly meeting and decided to forgo its attempt at having satellite meetings at various county locations for the time being.

Chairman Gaylen Duskey cited travel expenses, rental expenses and attendance as the primary reasons for the switch to the Grantsville location.

The committee is also getting in touch with the Maloney For Governor team to extend an invitation to either one of the regular monthly meetings or one of the county-wide festivals upcoming between now and the election.

The next regularly scheduled meeting is June 27.
