Wilma Jean Conrad, 70 - Linn

(05/16/2011)
Beloved wife and mother, Wilma Jean Conrad, age 70 of Linn, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011. She was at her home surrounded by her devoted husband and loving children.

She was born in Copen WV on August 7, 1940 a daughter of the late John Delaney and Lucille Nicholson Fincham and was one of six children.

Wilma fell in love and married Stacy Conrad in 1959. The couple moved to suburban Virginia where they raised their three children. She found great satisfaction in caring for her home, family and anyone in need. She always placed the needs of others above her own. This was the pattern of her entire life.

Spending time with her six grandchildren was one of the greatest joys of her life and each of them adored her. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, calming voice and endearing smile. She lifted our spirits by simply humming a beautiful melody as she tirelessly went about her day.

There are no better words to describe her than those of Proverbs 31. She is and always will be a vision of kindness and selfless grace that blessed everyone who ever met her. She has gone to be with her Lord and Savior.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Adrian, Isaac and Robert and sister, Madeline.

She is survived by her husband, Stacy, sons, Stacy J. Conrad and wife Melissa of Wardensville WV; Tim M. Conrad and wife Lisa of Charlottesville VA; daughter Nina M. Weaver and husband Michael of Garner NC; six grandchildren, Angela Everett, Candace Conrad, Matthew Conrad, Michael Conrad, Julia Weaver and Lauren Weaver. Wilma is also survived by her fraternal twin sister Emma J. Hacker and several nieces and nephews.

It was Wilma's request not to hold formal funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice Care, PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520 whose services were invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville assisted the family of Wilma Jean Conrad with arrangements.
