CIGARETTE SMOKING BAN WILL BE BROADENED - Smoking Will Be Eliminated In Restaurants

(05/18/2002)
More places will be banned for cigarette smoking and several counties are beginning to establish the boundaries.

The Cabel-Huntington Health Department is looking to the West Virginia Supreme Court to validate some of the non-smoking regulations, since controversy has occurred in a couple counties.

Smoking will likely be banned in restaurants, unless they are adult only facilities.

Also smoking bans will be placed on all shopping malls and sports arenas and within 15 feet of all public facilities.

The smoking ban is considered an environmental regulation.

It is unclear if regulations will be placed upon all-adult drinking establishments.
