| Pearl Summerfield, 87, of Looneyville, West Virginia, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
She was born July 7, 1923, at Looneyville, a daughter of the late Milton E. and Bessie Carpenter Boggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bailey Summerfield; one son, Joe Summerfield; five brothers, Virgil, John, Paul, Robert, and Eugene Boggs; two sisters, Margarite Smith and Bernice Griffith.
She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Flat Fork Baptist Church, Looneyville.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Zerkle, of Mechanicsburg OH; three grandchildren, Russell Fox and wife Nita of Looneyville, Clinton Fox of Springfield OH; Lora Fox of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Billy Ray Boggs of Spencer WV.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Mike Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Summerfield Cemetery, Looneyville.
Friends may call Saturday from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
