Eugene Buck, 75 - Big Springs

Eugene Buck, 75, of Big Springs, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord May 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous five year battle with cancer.

He was born in Harrison County WV October 1, 1935 a son of the late Theodore and Sadie Ruthford Parks Buck. He was a foreman for State Construction Company and was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Bonnie Webb Buck; his children, Darrell Buck (Pam) of Columbus OH, Sadie Wigal (John) of Painesville OH, Susan Metheney (Rick) and Shelia Gherke (Ron) both of Grantsville WV; stepchildren, Wayne Parsons (Vernita) and Sandra Kimble (Jim) all of Painesville OH, Sharon Burrows (Pete) of Parkersburg WV; Kathryn Badgett (Shirley), Pamela Kight (Carl), Richard Webb (Tammey) and Eric Webb (Marlene) all of Big Springs, Karen Moore (Mike) of Chloe WV and Jacqueline Riley (Denzil) of Farmington WV; three sisters, Opal Swisher of Big Springs, Thelma Cooper (Joe) of Clinton OH, and Delma Martin of Nelsonville OH; brothers, Harold Buck (Martha) of Cleveland OH, Denzil Buck (Ann), Charles Buck, Delbert Buck, and Ronnie Buck (Mary) all of Guysville OH, and Donald Buck (Bonnie) of Torch OH; 25 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a wife, Eleanore Eagle Buck; a daughter, Sonja L. Buck, a stepchild, Terry Lee Webb; and two brothers, Clarence and Robert.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Interment will be in the Goodnight Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
