HUNTER BAGS 17 POINT DEER - 1949 Blast From The Past

Regina L. Bailey submitted this photo to the Hur Herald, Regina says, "The photo is of my grandfather, Harless Graham and a group of his friends that were all logging together." The photo is courtesy of Mr. Clyde Houchin. "Mr. Houchin told me that this photo was taken in Leatherwood, Clay County, in the year 1949, he believes."

He said it was the first year WV, required hunters to wear a hunting tag.

Harless Graham, holding his gun in front of him with his hand on the deer snout, killed the 17 point, 193 pound deer. Behind him is Mr. Forest Houchin, on the windshield of the truck is Mr. Clyde Houchin, on the roof of the truck is Mr. Harley McKown, to the far left in front is Mr. Guy Carpenter and with his hand on the deer antlers is Mr. Cecil Hall.
