State Police are reporting a tampering of vehicles with an attempt to steal equipment from Ted Adkins gas and oil establishment, located just south of Arnoldsburg on State Rt. 16.

Sgt. O. S. Starsick said one or more individuals broke windows and jimmied ignitions on two trucks at the business sometime late last Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

"They were not successful getting them started, but both received heavy damage," said Starsick, indicating one vehicle was a 2005 Dodge truck and the other was a water truck.

Adkins is offering a $2500 reward for the arrest and prosecution of the culprits. Anyone with information should call the Grantsville Detachment at 304-354-6334.

Police reportedly responded to a similar incident at Ron Lane's used equipment lot at Arnoldsburg, an attempt which reportedly failed.

Police also responded this week to Calhoun Middle-High School after a teacher reported someone stuck an apple on a car exhaust.
