WOMAN ARRESTED IN CLAY FOR CREDIT CARD FRAUD

A Clendenin woman has been arrested in Clay County and charged with credit card fraud, according to a criminal complaint.

Crystal Gay Samples, 25 (pictured left) has been charged by the WV State Police with multiple counts related to the fraudulent use of another person's credit information. Samples is currently in Central Regional Jail.

Police said the victim of the crime was Samples' former mother-in-law.

The compliant says [Crystal] Samples opened credit cards using her mother-in-laws information, and made charges on the cards at numerous locations.

During the investigation, Samples said she opened the account on-line in March, 2009, according to the complaint.

The victim of the crime was unaware of the credit card fraud until January, 2011.
