SCHOOL BOARD EXPELS STUDENT - Two More Students Will Have Expulsion Hearings

The Calhoun Board of Education conducted an expulsion hearing at a special meeting conducted last week.

The board approved the recommendation of Superintendent Roger Propst to expel the student for the remainder of the school year.

The student is not allowed on school property during this time for any reason other than to attend evening classes at the Alternative Learning Center of Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center.

A further hearing will be conducted in August, 2011, to determine if the student has made appropriate progress.

Two more expulsion hearings are set for board consideration on May 3rd at 6:30 p.m.
