State Police responded to a car accident at 2 a.m. Wednesday near Richardson, Altizer Road, for an incident that reportedly was related to a dispute.

Sgt. O. S. Starsick arrested driver Lawrence Harold Bell, 21, and charged him with DUI-I, driving suspended, expired registration, and possession of a controlled substance. Bell was taken to Central Regional Jail.

One of two female occupants of the vehicle received a laceration to the head.

Charges are expected to be filed related to underage consumption, reportedly associated to a party prior to the incident.

The auto reportedly landed in a field near the Triad Gas Office.

A 911 report indicated the driver of the vehicle left the scene.

An initial report indicated the driver was carrying a gun while walking away from the accident, but that did not appear to be sustained.
