Samuel Dennison receives scholarship from John and Sue Oshoway

Gilmer County High School senior, Samuel Dennison, is the recipient of the 2011 Melissa Oshoway Criminal Justice Memorial Scholarship.

Samuel is the son of Joe and Marilyn Dennison, owners of Minnich Florists in Grantsville and Glenville WV. He will be attending Glenville State College.

The Oshoway's express their thanks to Billy and Wanda Houchin, Richard and Anita Parsons, Carolyn Lane, Mort and Mary Beth Titus and Rick Modesitt for donations to the scholarship fund.

The Melissa Oshoway Criminal Justice Scholarship was formed by friends and family in memory of Melissa "Missy" Oshoway, daughter of John and Sue Oshoway.

Missy was in a car accident on Christmas Eve 2004 and passed away on January 5, 2005. In an effort to see that this vibrant young lady's memory lives on, the Melissa Oshoway Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund was formed.

The scholarship is available to Calhoun or Gilmer County students pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and is awarded each year in the amount of $1,000.

Donations to the scholarship fund are accepted year-round, if you would like to contribute send donations to: Melissa Oshoway Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 136, Grantsville, WV 26147 or contact John or Sue Oshoway at 304-354-9204.
