Warren Cottrell, 101 - Tariff

Warren Cottrell, 101, of Tariff, West Virginia, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 in the Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood. He was born October 5, 1909, at Oka, a son of the late Elliott and Flora Jarvis Cottrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Deweese Cottrell in 1976; a son, Gilbert Cottrell; four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Cottrell was a farmer and a retired pipeline construction worker. Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Fields, Reva Wright and Reta Varda all of Spencer WV; one son, David Cottrell of Louisville OH; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Wayne McGlothlin officiating. Burial will be in the Tariff Cemetery, Tariff. Friends may call Wednesday two hours prior to the funeral.
