COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENTS HAD BUSY EASTER WEEKEND

County fire departments had a busy Easter weekend after a Saturday night storm downed dozens of trees across county highways, the county's three fire departments responded to several calls, along with community members using chainsaws to remove the trees.

The Arnoldsburg VFD responded to a rescue call on a low-water bridge on the West Fork near the mouth of Henry's Fork.

Electric power has reportedly been restored to Calhoun customers in the Sand Ridge, Crummies Creek and Beech areas Sunday night.

Sunday night the power company reported customers without power in regional counties, 362 in Braxton, 118 in Gilmer and 57 in Clay.

The Grantsville VFD responded to what they said was a tire and debris fire at the Huey Dale service yard at Pleasant Hill, responding at 9:25 p.m.
