FLASH FLOODING WATCH FOR AREA

(04/23/2011)
FLASH FLOOD WATCH UNTIL 6 PM SATURDAY

CALHOUN AND REGIONAL COUNTIES

Rounds of heavy showers with a few thunderstorms will occur today.

Due to recent rains the ground remains wet. Stream and creek levels are elevated in many counties. Additional heavy rain may cause renewed flooding problems.

During and after this rain event some rivers may also be vulnerable to flooding. If the expected heavy rainfall occurs... the Ohio River will even become quite high with some locations possibly seeing some flooding issues.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding along small streams and creeks. Flash flooding is a dangerous situation.
