OH, GIVE ME A HOME WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM - Animals Loose On Hog Knob Hill

Hog Knob residents are complaining about seven wandering buffalo, who are roaming the area along State Rt.5 just east of Grantsville. Some residents say the large animals have trampled their lawns. Calhoun Animal Control Officer Bob Groves says the buffalo belong to Frank Masiarczyk of Buffalo Rocks, and have crossed the river into the Hog Knob area. "They have had difficulty getting back because of high water," Groves said. Groves spent time getting the animals back to an area along the river. He indicated the buffalo leave the property about once a year. So far, the animals have not knowingly been on State Rt. 5.
