LIQUOR SALES SOON TO BE ALLOWED ON ELECTION DAYS - Calhoun Is WV's Only 'Dry' County

(04/10/2011)
The liquor law is about to change in the Mountain State.

The West Virginia ABC says after June 10, 2011, liquor stores can sell alcohol on election days.

The prohibiting of the sale of liquor on election days started many years ago because liquor was used to buy votes in parts of the Mountain State.

The new law does not affect Calhoun County, being the only county in the state were liquor is not retailed.
