CALHOUN WOMAN LOSES MALPRACTICE CASE - Jury Rules In Favor Of Roane General

(05/14/2002)
A Roane County jury declined to rule in favor of a Calhoun woman in a medical malpractice case. The court ruled in favor of Roane General Hospital and against Tammy Rush, who claimed the facility was responsible for the stillborn death of her infant.

She had gone to Roane General emergency room in 1996 during her 34th week of pregnancy.

Testimony lasted for four days, there were 11 witnesses.

The jury did not find negligence on the part of the attending physician, Dr. Kenneth Seen or Roane General.

Rush was represented by Charleston Attorney Frank Venezia. Roane General was represented by Huntington attorney D. C. Offutt.
