Warren Bernard Arthur, 88, of Vienna

Warren Bernard Arthur, 88, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away April 12, 2011, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.

He was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Grantsville, W.Va., a son of the late Charles and Mabel Hickman Arthur.

Arthur had been employed as a surveyor with several companies, including the state of West Virginia. He enjoyed gardening and especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and the rest of his family. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was also a member of the Vienna Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nina Marie Spurgeon Arthur; two daughters, Janet Carlson (John) of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and Rebecca "Becky" Murphy (Willie) of Vienna, W.Va.; four sons, William Arthur (Debbie) of Bridgeport, W.Va., Richard Arthur (Jan) of Fletcher, N.C., Michael Arthur (Faith) of Vienna, W.Va., and Donald Arthur (Stephanie) of Wadsworth, Ohio; and a host of grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services on Thursday
