Zella Murphy, 90 - Orma

Zella Murphy, 90, of Orma, West Virginia, passed away April 5, 2011 at her home. She was born in Calhoun County, August 12, 1920, a daughter of the late William and Tilda Ann Marks Cottrell. She was a member of the Milo Community Church. Surviving are her husband, Ed Murphy; five sons, Paul Leonard (Abe) Rush, Shirley Orville Rush, Earnest Wilson Rush, Scottie Junior Rush and Charles Robert Rush; eight daughters, Phyllis Cottrell; Goldie Mae Green, Opal Gay Horsley, Vina Sue Rush, Mina Lou Rogers, Helen Rogers, Gladys Roupe and Nelsie Juanita Rush; two sisters, Goldie Rush and Effie Mae Wallbrown; three brothers, Ernest, Cecil and Shirley Cottrell. Also surviving are 44 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 35 step great grandchildren; and 43 step great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Rush; her second husband, James Roupe; two sons, Okie Everett Rush and James Allen Rush; three brothers; 2 sisters; 1 grandchild; 1 great grandchild; and 1 stepson. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. Rev. John Meadows will officiate. Interment will be in the Witt Cemetery at Minnora. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
