Mrs. Jane Carpenter's first grade class at Pleasant Hill School recently held a pet food and other necessary items drive for a local animal shelter. Mrs. Carpenter delivered the items and even met a dog that she is going to adopt.

Mrs. Carpenter and her class want to send a special, "Thanks for your help" to everyone who donated.

The class collected, $60.00 in cash; 60 pounds of dry dog food; 5 cans of dog food; 3 1/2 lbs of cat food; 1 bag kitty litter; 8-10 bags of doggie treats; 2 packs of flea medicine; 2 boxes of wormer; 5 collars; several blankets, towels and rags, a dog bed, and a large number of toys.

Mrs. Carpenter and her class are continuing to collect items until the end of the year, so keep bringing in anything that you can. The animals need our help and appreciate our efforts.
