SPENCER MAN WILL RUN ACROSS USA FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS

(03/29/2011)
Spencer resident Drew Miller is running thousands of miles across America in an effort to help war heroes.

Miller is running 2100 miles from Long Beach, California to his hometown of Spencer in April, planing on covering about 20 miles a day for about five months.

The project is called "The Long Road Home."

Miller says he is hoping to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warriors Project.

"Having a couple of really close friends who have done a couple of tours and a couple of them have been badly injured over there and that was an immediate connection between doing this crazy thing and raising money for a cause like that," said Miller.

Miller says any amount of money raised will help the cause.

If you would like to donate, make checks payable to the Wounded Warrior Project c/o First Neighborhood Bank, 527 Church Street, Spencer, WV 25276.
