Daisy Mae Carpenter Yoak, 71, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away March 26, 2011 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, following an extended illness. She was born at Richardson, a daughter of the late Slathel and Audrey Starcher Carpenter. She attended Calhoun County schools and The Spencer Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a former employee of BF Goodrich Company. Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Lowell Thomas Yoak; four sisters, Barbara Nichols, Eloise Nichols and Linda Kincaid all of Spencer WV and Bessie Merrill of Ohio; a brother, Chuckie Carpenter of Cremo WV; and several half brothers and sisters; a special nephew, Danny Nichols of Spencer; and a special friend, Arletta Davis of Grantsville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Carpenter. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3 at the Spencer Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Daniel Morikone officiating. Interment will be in the Starcher Cemetery on Henry's Fork, Calhoun County. There will be no visitation. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Stump Funeral Home of Arnoldsburg is in charge of arrangements.
