SIMONTON'S CORPORATE EMPLOYEES LEAVING PARKERSBURG - Ritchie Plants Not Affected

(03/16/2011)
A well-known regional window manufacturing company is downsizing its corporate offices in Parkersburg, relocating 50% of its workers from Parkersburg to Columbus, Ohio.

Simonton Widows says the move is related to access to customers and vendors.

The move will affect about 80 employees.

The move, according to corporate officials, will not affect Simonton's three Ritchie County production facilities in Ellenboro, Harrisville and Pennsboro. Mark Savan, company president, said "Columbus provides us with greater accessibility to our national customer base and suppliers and is more centrally located between our manufacturing facilities in West Virginia, Illinois, Oklahoma and California."

Founded in West Virginia in 1946, Simonton is one of the nation's leading vinyl window and patio door manufacturers.
