Emery Dair Starcher, 88 - Doyelstown, Ohio

Emery Dair Starcher, age 88, of Doyelstown, Ohio, passed away March 10, 2011 at Summa Barberton Hospital after a short illness.

He was born November 29, 1922 in Roane County, W.Va. to Dair and Ada (Tanner) Starcher. A resident of Doylestown, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict, and was retired from P.P.G. Co. Emery was Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Lucille Starcher; stepson, Hershel Holmes; sisters, Ernestine Goff, Freda Mae Love; brother, Virgil Starcher all of Spencer, W.Va.; and brother, Rev. James Starcher of Doylestown.

He is survived by sister, Pansy Sutphin; brother, O. Paige Starcher both of Spencer, W.Va.; nephew, Dr. Randall Starcher of Hartville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews of Spencer, W.Va.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Elmwood Dr., Doylestown, 44230, with Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Wadsworth V.F.W. Post 1089 and American Legion Post 107.

Arrangements are being handled by Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230.
