West Virginia lawmakers raised taxes to provide $39.5 million for secondary roads by increasing motor vehicle fees.

The measure will raise about two dozen Division of Motor Vehicle fees, including the cost of a regular driver's license, which would go from $2.50 to $6.50 for each year of the license.

Registering a passenger vehicle will cost $45, a $16.50 increase.

Vehicle title fees will more than quadruple, from $5 to $21.
