Helen Copen, 82 - Elizabeth

Helen Copen, 82 of Elizabeth passed away March 11, 2011 at the Ravenswood Village after an extended illness.

She was born April 2, 1928 to John and Lillian (McFee) Salmons in Parkersburg WV, and was a 1946 graduate of Wirt County High School.

Helen was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star 113 of Elizabeth, past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge of Elizabeth, and had 25 plus years of service for the Wirt County EMS as a dispatcher.

She was also a substitute cook for the Wirt County Board of Education. She enjoyed raising flowers, and quilting.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Perrine of Cottageville WV and Brenda (Jim) Copen of Eclectic, Alabama.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, three brothers, Jim, Carter, and Jack Salmons, and a son-in-law, Bill Perrine.

Services will be Tuesday March 15, at 11 a.m. at the Matheny-Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Eastern Star Service will be Monday at 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be at K of P Cemetery of Elizabeth WV
