Nannie Mae McCoy Smith, 92 - McFarland

Nannie Mae McCoy Smith, 92, of McFarland, W.Va., died Sunday Feb. 27, 2011, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Mayberry, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas and Susan Lockhart McCoy.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved everyone and loved to talk and joke with people. She was an animal lover and had many in her life time. Her favorite hobby was playing Bingo and Dominoes and putting puzzles together. She will be sadly missed by her family and the many friends she had.

She is survived by her daughter Diana Jackson and her fiancé Dennis Watson of Mineral Wells; stepson Richard Lewis (Sue) of Davisville; five grandchildren Robbie Evans (Josie) of Mineral Wells, Cindy Lemon of Vienna, Kimberly McClead (Sam) of Parkersburg, Aleacia Peer (Michael) of Halifax, Va., and Jimmy Smith of Mineral Wells.

Six great-grandchildren Tiffany Lemon, Ashley Peer, Samantha McClead, and Cecily, Tyler, and Coleman Evans; son-in-law James Knotts of Mineral Wells; daughter-in-law Phyllis Smith of Mineral Wells; step grandchildren Sabra Pauley (Michael) of Parkersburg and Straude Lewis (Melissa) of Wagner, Okla.; and several step great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Olandus Coleman Smith in 2006; two sons, Olandus "Buddy" Smith and Robert Smith; a daughter, Linda Knotts; two sons-in-law, Dallas Evans and Bud Jackson; three brothers, and two sisters.

Services will be Wednesday 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Brian Arthur officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
