TEEN FIGHTING FOR LIFE - A Jackson County teen is in critical condition after being shot in the head by a BB pellet rifle. Larry Fields, 19, was shot in the head at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at a residence in Evans. Sergeant Michael Baylous says Jared Devin Wade Anthony, 18, of Ripley, shot Fields, 19, of Ripley, in the head with a pellet rifle during a party. State Police indicate drugs and alcohol may have been contributing factors. Charges have yet to be filed in the case. CAMC and sources says Fields is fighting for his life. BARBOURSVILLE HOLD-UP - Police are investigating an armed robbery at Smokin' Joes on Route 60 in Barboursville just after 12 a.m. Saturday morning. State police and Barboursville officers responded to the scene. According to dispatchers, no one was hurt.
