CGCC OFFERING NIGHT CLASS IN MASONRY AND CONCRETE

The Building Construction department at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center will be offering an evening masonry and concrete course for an adult interested in working basic masonry and concrete sets.

This class covers the basic fundamentals of block, stone and brick laying. The course works with students interested in the union apprentice program.

Currently this trade area is looking for skilled laborers, rate for a union brick layer is $42.50 per hour.

A minimum of 5 students is needed. Once this number is met the class start-date will be set. The projected time will be from March through May. This will be a ten week course one day a week for three hours offering trade skills in foundation work, site preparation, masonry layouts, blue print reading, brick and stone veneering.
