Kelly Daniel Jarvis, 66 - Spencer

Kelly Daniel "Danny" (Birdie) Jarvis, 66, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, February 11, 2011, in CAMC - Memorial Division, Charleston.

He was born September 17, 1944, at Spencer, a son of the late Kelly Dempsey and Reva Mae Craddock Jarvis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Jarvis, and a sister, Shirley McCune.

Danny was a 1963 graduate of Spencer High School, was employed for 20 years as produce manager for Big Star, Spencer, and was a retired advertising manager for Spencer Newspapers. He was an avid tennis player, worked for 33 years as a basketball official, and enjoyed playing table tennis, dancing to oldies music, and maintaining and keeping a clean black car. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spencer, the Charleston Players Club, the Moose, and SSAC Officials.

Survivors include two daughters, Kelli Zwoll and her husband, Marlan, of Orma WV, and Cindy Dranttel and her husband, Mike, of Phoenix AZ; grandchildren, Nathan Dranttel, Randi Dranttel, Zenna Zwoll, Olivia Zwoll, and another grandchild on the way; nephews, Tim Jarvis and wife, Karen, Mike Jarvis, and Mike Harris; nieces, Pam Miller, Vicki Griffith, and Lisa Harris.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 15 in the First Baptist Church, Spencer, with the Rev. Michael F. King officiating. Burial will be in the Slate Cemetery, Spencer.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday, February 14 at First Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the "Music Ministries" of First Baptist Church, 338 Main Street, Spencer, WV 25276.

Arrangements are entrusted to John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer.
