GRANTSVILLE POLICE ISSUE JANUARY REPORT - Department Gets New Radar And Computers

Chief Jeff Starcher reported the following violations for the month of January Citation 1/7/11 - Chadwick Hughes, Speeding 45 in a 25. Citation 1/11/11 - Delbert Underwood, Speeding 40 in a 25, No proof of insurance. Citation 1/27/11 - Nichole Parsons, Expired Registration. The department arrested Willie Nicholson on New Year's Day, charging him with fleeing DUI, driving while license suspended for DUI 3rd offense, fleeing showing reckless indifference, crash involving vehicle damage, reckless driving, speeding, improper registration, no registration, no insurance, fleeing on foot, and obstructing an officer. The department reports 31 calls for service and 58 citizen contacts. Five criminal investigations and one traffic crash investigation. Three city ordinance violations (one assault/two breach of peace). No Parking citations. One call out. Traffic stops: 16 warnings; 3 citations; 1 fleeing DUI arrest.
