GRANTSVILLE VOTERS WILL GO TO POLLS TODAY - 13 File For Council, Four For Mayor

Grantsville voters will go to polls today. Thirteen candidates filed for Grantsville town council seats, what could be a record number in recent years. Four have filed for mayor (two year term), incumbent Gary Knight, Curtis Garretson, Helen Jordan and Robert Petrovsky. Barbara Duskey has filed for recorder, current recorder Helen Johnson is not seeking re-election. The winners are decided by a few voters, usually less that 100 votes cast. A few of the candidates are taking the door-to-door approach, but with so many candidates splitting the vote, to quote an old political saying, "It will be decided by who has the most relatives." Filing for town council (two year term): Dorothy McCauley, James Ball, Erin Barnhardt, Andrew Smith, Geneva Nicholson, Cris Ferrebee, Robert Gaylen Duskey, Katheryn Kerby, Linda Staton, Dolly Hickman, Mary Sue Jordan, Debra Summers and Loretta Stevens.
