Fire quickly spreads from electric box

Like many fires, three more minutes would have been devastating. An electrical fire quickly spread up the wall from a fuse box, according to homeowner Sherry Farrell. The occupants of the house quickly pulled the meter and splashed water on the walls of the house, putting the fire out before the Grantsville VFD arrived.

The fire broke out about 1 a.m. Saturday morning at the top of Leafbank Hill, about three miles off State Route 5. The Grantsville VFD dispatched three units and ten firemen, remaining on the scene for about one hour.

Farrell said she took seven children from the house and put them in a car, while they put out the fire.
