Betty Jane Lowe, 81 - Elizabeth

Betty Jane Lowe, 81 of Elizabeth, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 26, 2011.

Betty was born January 6, 1930 the daughter of the late Perry Guy and Lucy Cline Mace.

She was a 1947 graduate of Wirt County High School, was a US Postal worker (mail carrier) for 14 years, and former co-owner of the Theatre Restaurant of Elizabeth.

She also started the Cottage Grove Road Church in 1963, was a former pastor and assistant pastor, and did evangelistic work for several years. She was an inspiration of Christian living to all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Floyd "Mutt" Lowe; 6 children, Greg (Patty) Lowe of Xenia OH, Mark (Rebecca) Lowe of Palestine WV; Cindy Duckworth of Elizabeth, Cheyenne Lowe of Akron OH, Mona (Scott) Barb of Medina OH, and Joyce Murphy of Canton OH; 3 brothers, Jim (Peggy) Mace of Vienna WV, Paul (Marie) Mace of Parkersburg WV, and Sam (Beverly) Mace of Akron OH; 1 sister, Rosemary Masten of New Philly OH; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Herbie Whitacre; 1 son-in-law, Leslie Duckworth; 4 brothers, George, Lenard Don, Jack, and Tom Mace; and 4 sisters Madge Adams, Hanna Hickman, Joann Mace, and Dotty Newell.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29 at the Elizabeth United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Lowe officiating. Interment will be at the K of P Cemetery of Elizabeth WV.

Visitation will be Friday Jan. 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth and Saturday at the church from noon until time of the service.
