TROOPER PRINGLE WILL RETURN TO WORK - Officer Making Recovery Journey

Ritchie County State Trooper Andy Pringle has been fighting his way back to health after being struck by a drunk driver on Rt. 47 on April 24, 2010.

State Police are saying Cpl. Pringle is expected to return to at least one day a week, likely in February.

Sgt. J. Stout told WBOY-TV that Pringle has been to the barracks a few times and that he's willing to do what it takes to get him back in uniform.

He has been working on his recovery from his Doddridge County home, having suffered critical injuries which required a long hospital stay.

Jessie D. Parsons, 63, of Ritchie County, was arrested for DUI after striking Cpl. Pringle with his vehicle, Pringle was standing outside of his vehicle making a traffic stop.

Parsons was sentenced to one year in jail.
