JACKSON CO, MURDER-SUICIDE - Jackson County officials are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.

The Charleston Gazette says Jackie Westfall, 45, of Staats Mills, called family members from his cell phone just after 3 a.m. to say he had just shot his wife and was going to shoot himself.

Family members also went looking for the couple, finding a truck about 4 a.m. with the bodies of Westfall and his wife, Ruth Jeanette Westfall, 34, in the bed.

The truck was found at the Aplin Cemetery off of White Pine Cemetery Road, not far from the couple's home, police said.

Family members saw no indication that there was any trouble between the Westfalls.
