Henry H. Heiney, Jr., 89, of Ravenna, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at his home.

He was born in Grantsville, the son of the late Howard and Retta Hosey Heiney.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Rockwell Standard Steel for 27 years and retired from the City of Ravenna after 15 years. He was a lifetime member of Blackhorse Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna Heiney of Ravenna; four sons, Roger Heiney, Jeff Heiney and Chris Heiney, all of Ravenna, and Denny Heiney of Fairlawn; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Lela Reeder, Juanita Reynolds and Grace Wilson, all of Parkersburg, Eleanor Ciarcia of Aurora, Ohio, and Louise Newbrough of Brohard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta L. Heiney; one daughter, Mary Tschantz; one son, Ronald G. Heiney, Sr.; five brothers, Forest L. Heiney of Tanner, Don Heiney, Doyle Glen Heiney and Charles Frances Heiney, Sr., all of Grantsville, and Denver Heiney of Byron, Mich.; and two sisters, Geneva Snider of Grantsville and Marie Mascoline of Bedford, Ohio.

Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, with Pastor Dallas Sanford officiating, and burial in Grandview Memorial Park, Ravenna.
