NICHOLSON WAIVES PRELIMINARY HEARING OVER 6-VEHICLE CRASH

(01/13/2011)
Willie Shane Nicholson, 30, of Clarksburg, is facing 11-charges following a six vehicle collision west of Grantsville on New Years Day.

Nicholson waived a preliminary hearing Tuesday before Magistrate Rick Postalwait.

At least three felony charges, fleeing DUI, driving suspended DUI revoked, and fleeing showing reckless indifference, will likely be presented to a grand jury.

Nicholson fled from Grantsville police officers following a traffic stop. Grantsville patrolman Rob Bradley said Nicholson reached speeds over 90 mph.

"He [Nicholson] never hit his brakes," said officer Bradley.

He crashed his truck into four parked vehicles, his vehicle then landed upside down on the highway with a Grantsville police cruiser receiving damages averting the pile-up.
