Lucy Oval Davisson Nichols, 87 - Grantsville

Lucy Oval Davisson Nichols, 87, of Grantsville, West Virginia, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Miletree Healthcare Center, Spencer, WV following an extended illness. She was born September 22, 1923 a daughter of James Idon and Arlie Ethel Rinehart Davisson and had eight brothers; Earl, Worthy, Claud, Orvis, Oren, Garald, Willis and Ray; and one sister, Garlinn James. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oral Nichols on March 31, 2004, and two daughters, Sharon Nichols and Charlotte Cain McDonald. Surviving are three sons, Larry of Ripley WV, Millard (Rita) and Garland of Grantsville; four daughters, Gloria Kendall of Walker WV, Doris (James) Reaser of Grafton WV, Sheila Meadows of San Tan Valley AZ and Annetta Perry of Grantsville. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lucy was a homemaker and a long time member of the Enon Baptist Church in Grantsville. In lieu of flowers her family requests donations be given to Relay for Life. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 12 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. John Vannoy will officiate. Interment will be in Blessed Hope Cemetery, Spencer WV. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
