Thelma Siers Lichlyter, 88 - Parkersburg

Thelma Siers Lichlyter, 88, of Parkersburg passed away Jan. 4, 2011, at the St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born in Calhoun County, W.Va., the daughter of the late William Harrison and Viola Weekley Siers.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, drawing and all types of crafts. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Loretta Strawbridge of Oil City, Pa., Janet Plant, Jean Davis and Beverly Wilson, all of Parkersburg; Dennis Lichlyter of Minnora, W.Va., Brenda Reynolds of Parkersburg and Joe Lichlyter of Elizabeth, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Habred Siers and Darrell Siers, both of Calhoun County, and one sister, Orva Parsons of Calhoun County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Lichlyter in 1994; three sisters, Roxie Cooper, Velva Lilly and Evelyn Bailey; her brother, Edward Sears, and an infant brother, Forrest Siers.

Funeral services will be Friday 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Evangelist Andy Robison officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Nicut, W.Va. Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m.
