AIRMAN THOMAS KILLED IN NORTH DAKOTA - Soldier Dies In Accident Sunday

A Spencer woman has died from injuries in an accident Sunday morning in Minot, North Dakota. Airman First Class Krystal D. Thomas, 21, a native of Spencer, currently serving in the United States Air Force, reportedly fell through a plate-glass window, causing her death.

The Minot Daily News reported that Airman Thomas was found lying injured among broken glass when police arrived at a disturbance in the 700 block of East Central Avenue at approximately 5:15 a.m. Sunday. She was taken to Trinity Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m., according to a statement issued Sunday by Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs.

No further details were immediately available and the incident is still under investigation.

She was a 2000 graduate of Roane County High School and was assigned to the 91st Space Wing at the Minot Air Force Base.

Airman Thomas is the daughter of Dave and Shelia Thomas of Spencer. She was a personnel specialist with the 91st Maintenance Squadron, she was assigned to Minot AFB in January 2001, entering the Air Force in September 2000.

The body is being returned today to the John H. Taylor Funeral Home in Spencer, where arrangements will be completed.
