Mary B. Rogers-Parsons, 78 - Spencer

Mary B. Rogers-Parsons, 78, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after a sudden illness.

She was born January 21, 1932 at Geary, Roane County, a daughter of the late Homer Roy and Lydda Ann Berkhouse Justice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Hersey Rogers; sister, Ella Justice Miller; and brother, Clyde Edward Justice.

Mary was a retired employee of the Spencer State Hospital, a member of the Faith Baptist Church and a Roane County Schools Foster Grandparent.

Survivors include her second husband, John E. Parsons of Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Marilynn and Johnny Dunlap of Spencer; grandson, Justin Dunlap of Spencer; stepdaughters, Alice Whitmer of Massillon OH and Edna Jeffery of Spencer; stepson, Wayne Parsons of Massillon OH; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Wayne McGlothlin officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.

Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
