CHANGING TIMES ENDS HERALD GUESTBOOK

(12/29/2010)
The Herald has eliminated its' GUEST BOOK, a feature that has been part of the online publication since the 1990s.

With Twitter, Facebook, blogging and regular e-mail readily available for personal communication, the need for a guest book continued to fade over the years.

Several thousand readers had used the guest book to make comments, leave their e-mail and connect.

One of our problems was our inability to eliminate a constant flow of spam to the guest book, which got to be very time consuming.

The GUEST BOOK, like many elements of Internet publishing, had its day.

Herald readers can comment by using Letters to the Editor, provided the guidelines are followed.

The Herald does not believe in anonymous blogging.
