HEARING SET FOR DENMARK CASE

(12/20/2010)
Further proceedings and a status hearing is scheduled for today in Calhoun Circuit Court in Grantsville for William Seth Denmark, related to charges brought against him in Calhoun County.

Denmark was charged with kidnapping Roane County resident Veronica Cottrill and allegedly holding her at gunpoint, while Denmark buried the body of David Wayne Beach, according to a criminal complaint filed by lead investigator Cpl. Doug Starcher of the WV State Police in Grantsville.

No body has been found.

Malicious assault and conspiracy charges against Denmark, who is currently in Central Regional Jail, have been dismissed, according to special prosecutor Josh Downey.

The charges are related to an incident where Denmark and David Beach allegedly went to Jesses Run and shot Aaron Lloyd.

Downey indicated the charges have been dismissed because of technical issues, but could be refiled.

Also on the docket Monday is disposition regarding the mental state of Leon Kerby II.

A hearing on a motion to revoke home confinement for Bruce Edgell.

A civil case McCune vs. Cottrell, hearing on motion for preliminary injunction.

Sixteen juvenile cases are on the docket.
