OLD FOOTBALL FIELD REALLY IS CLOSED - Bleachers Being Moved To Mt. Zion Complex

(04/29/2002)

Wayne Underwood Field was "officially" closed at the end of the 2000 football season, to be used one more year in 2001. The old football field has really seen its last days with the removal of the bleachers to the Mt. Zion complex. Volunteers have been working the past week or so, taking them apart.

Football will be played at the new field this fall.

The Calhoun County Board of Education is expected to make a decision to turn the field over to the Calhoun Commission or the Town of Grantsville, for continued recreational use.
