ACCUSED BANK ROBBER VANCE WAIVES PRE-LIM HEARING - Case Goes To Circuit Court

(12/14/2010)
Accused Calhoun bank robber Richard D. Vance, 22, waived a preliminary hearing yesterday before magistrate Richard Postalwait in Grantsville.

He was represented by attorney John Oshoway.

The case will be sent to Calhoun Circuit Court, where it will be taken before a Grand Jury.

State Police say Vance entered Calhoun Banks at Arnoldsburg in September and held it up with a hunting knife.

Judge David W. Nibert has sentenced Vance to prison for violating his probation on a Roane County larceny charge, the Orma resident fled to Texas.

He will serve 1-to-10 years in the state correctional system, with credit for days already served.

Vance's bond for the Calhoun County charge is set at $90,000.

Vance told Roane County officials he had nothing to do with the bank robbery.
