SERVICES THURSDAY FOR FORMER COUNCILMAN AND GRANTSVILLE BUSINESSMAN - Charlie Whipkey Dies At 63

Funeral services are set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville for local florist and a former Grantsville councilman.

Charlie Whipkey, 63, of Grantsville, died December 6 from cancer.

Whipkey operated Classic Creations in Grantsville, served on the Grantsville town council for six years and was a current board member for the Calhoun County Committee on Aging.

The talented artist created the design for the official Calhoun County flag, and when a teen drew the emblem used by the Calhoun County Wood Festival for over 40 years.

Friends can call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
