Students at Pleasant Hill School are learning about the importance of "community service" by conducting a school-wide project.

During the months of November and December, the children are bringing in food items for the local food pantry.

Total school-wide donations for the month of November were 800 units/items. The three classes with the highest number of donated items were, Mrs. Kristie Ritchie's fourth grade class with 143 items. Mrs. Jarvis' fourth grade class with 97 items and Mr. Queen's second grade class with 92 donations.

Pictured above are representatives from each classroom in front of the school with all the items collected prior to the school Thanksgiving break. The items were delivered to the food pantry to be made available for families in need during Thanksgiving.

The December drive is now underway, students and staff are hopeful that it will be as successful as November's. They would like to thank the students and families of Pleasant Hill School for their generosity and support of this project.
